The journey begins when the protagonist arrives in southern France and finds out that his son died on the first day of a pilgrimage called El Camino de Santiago (The Way of St. James). He embarks on the journey for his son’s sake, but soon realizes that there is more to this pilgrimage than he initially expected.
The Way is an inspirational film with a message that people of any faith can appreciate. The pilgrims on the journey are each walking for different reasons, but they all gain something as they begin to get to know each other and themselves as they open up to find out who they really are. Although this film is not a comedy, there are definitely some laughs throughout. It’s uplifting and speaks to an issue that many people face, finding meaning in life.
I watched “The Way” on Netflix, but you can also purchase the DVD or Blu-Ray at Amazon.com.
